John Wisbey

John Wisbey

Chairman & CEO

 

John Wisbey, Chairman and CEO, founded CONVENDIA in 2015. His previous software and technology experience was in two UK quoted companies as Chairman and Founder of IDOX plc, a market leader in UK Local Government solutions, and as Chairman and CEO and Founder of Lombard Risk Management plc, a global leader in risk management and regulatory solutions for banks, financial institutions and corporations.

Since 2018 he has been Chairman and CEO of International Lithium Corp., a TSXV quoted lithium, rubidium and gold exploration company. His banking career before becoming a technology entrepreneur was at UK investment bank Kleinwort Benson (now owned by Commerzbank) where he spent time initially as a lending banker and then as a director in the derivatives group.

John wishes he had had CONVENDIA available to him as CEO at his previous firms, and believes passionately in helping boards and senior managers with great analysis and reporting around the cash and shareholder value implications of possible actions or deals. He has lived in the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Switzerland, and is a regular visitor to North America and Asia. He is a graduate of Winchester College and Cambridge University.

Nick Davies joined CONVENDIA in 2016 as CTO responsible for the key technical vision and product delivery of the company. He was previously Chief Technology Officer of Lombard Risk Management plc for 8 years, and before that was head of technology for three global businesses of JP Morgan.

At Lombard Risk he was a board member and had overall responsibility for both technology and support of the firm’s 300 clients in the risk and regulatory space. He has an intimate knowledge of all aspects of the software development and project management process from his time at Lombard Risk, including running a 150 person offshore software development centre in Shanghai, China and obtaining certifications like ISO 9001 and ISO 27001.    Whilst at JP Morgan he had responsibility for major software projects involving both internal IT development and outside vendors. specifically transforming the technical delivery capability through the development and implementation of strategic sourcing programmes.

At both Lombard Risk and JP Morgan he helped the organisations become greatly more efficient and effective at Development Delivery through the establishment of repeatable and consistent processes across product and business through the transformation of achieving CMMI-D level 3, leveraging cross PDLC and SDLC metholodgies that suited both larger waterfall and more nimble and light-weight agile methodologies.     CONVENDIA’s module for Financial Services would have met exactly the needs that Nick had at JP Morgan to track project costs and risks, and give early warning indicators of possible cost overruns.

Nick is originally from Yorkshire and is a Computer Science graduate of Leeds writing his thesis on the Challenges Maintaining Core Principles of Software Engineering within Smaller Organisations  and continues his passion for learning with professional qualifications as a Prince 2 practitioner, PMI-PMBOK, MSP, and is a qualified TOGAF 9.1 Enterprise Architect to add to his extensive range of Microsoft Certifications.

During his time at JP Morgan he spent extensive time working in both London and New York.
